Job summary

School of Science and Technology seeks a dedicated coordinator to oversee Special Education, Section 504, and Dyslexia programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and district requirements. The role drives effective instructional services aligned to IEPs and 504 plans based on student needs.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, 2 years SPED experience, and valid Texas SPED certification; leadership, communication, and collaboration skills are essential in a fast-paced school

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 2 years of special education teaching experience (Preferred)
  • Valid Texas Educator Certification with required special education endorsement (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Trains teachers of SPED and general education staff on confidentiality and compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Participates in professional development activities and staff meetings.
  • Assists in scheduling SPED instruction and planning staff development and in-service programs.
  • Monitors SPED/504 students’ progress using formative and summative evaluations to ensure educational goals.
  • Maintains and submits required district, state, and federal reports and documents.
