Job summary

International Leadership of Texas in Houston, TX seeks a seasoned Special Education Coordinator to lead the campus SPED department and coordinate services for students with IEPs. Responsibilities include developing IEPs, facilitating ARD meetings, adapting curriculum, and mentoring staff to align instruction with student needs while maintaining strong communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required
• Master's degree in Education from an accredited college or university preferred
• Valid Texas Teacher Certification in Special Education required
• Valid Texas Teacher Certification in one of: Elementary or Middle School Generalist OR Core Subjects EC-6 OR Core Subjects 4–8 OR Other valid Texas teaching certificate appropriate for the grade levels K-8

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEP through the ARD process
• Lead ARD Committee meetings and ensure compliance with timelines
• Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs for students with IEPs
• Assess student learning styles and tailor instruction accordingly
• Present subject matter effectively and adapt curricula to student needs
• Work with classroom teachers to modify regular curricula and support inclusion
• Participate in ARD Committee meetings and maintain documentation
• Establish and maintain open communication with parents and school leadership
