Job summary

School of Science and Technology seeks a dedicated SPED/504 Coordinator to ensure compliance with federal, state, and district requirements and to coordinate dyslexia programs. The role focuses on delivering effective instructional services aligned to IEPs and 504 plans tailored to individual student needs.

You will train staff, monitor student progress, and collaborate with administrators and specialists to provide equitable education and timely program modifications across classrooms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 2 years of special education teaching experience (Preferred).
• Valid Texas Educator Certification with required special education endorsement (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Trains teachers of SPED/504 and general education staff, ensuring confidentiality per laws.
• Schedules classes for SPED instruction and supports ARD/504 processes.
• Plans professional development and in-service programs for staff.
• Monitors SPED/504 students' progress using assessments and coordinates instruction.
• Maintains required district, state, and federal records and reports.
• Communicates with parents, students, principals and teachers about student progress.
• Collaborates with district personnel and Region service centers on SPED/504 services.
