Job summary

FRANKLIN ELEMENTARY is seeking a Paraprofessional (SPED) Self-Contained for a part-time role in Salt Lake City. The position supports a certified SPED and general education teacher, with duties including one-on-one support, data collection, and Medicaid documentation.

The role requires a high school diploma or higher, and two years of college or an associate degree or Parapro Assessment score 460+. CPR/First Aid, Safety Care, and Health Services trainings are required.

Qualifications

• Fingerprinting and criminal background check required.
• ESSA Highly Qualified or higher education requirement (48 college hours or associates or Parapro score 460+).
• Official transcripts or diploma must be provided with your application or upon contingent offer.
• CPR & First Aid certification within 2 months of hire.
• Complete Safety Care Training and Annual Health Services Training.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English; strong grammar.
• Ability to perform basic math including fractions, percentages, ratios.
• Experience using standard office equipment and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist and supervise students in general education classes per IEP needs.
• Under the direction of teachers, provide 1:1 or small group instruction to meet IEP goals.
• Collect data on student behaviors and academics to support Medicaid funding.
• Assist with transporting students to and from the bus at AM/PM.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow district policies and procedures.
• Support classroom management and various interventions as directed.
• Attend required trainings and meetings; adapt to changing priorities.
