Job summary

Avon Public School seeks a Special Education Paraprofessional III to assist teachers in mild to severe self-contained classrooms, ensuring effective learning environments and individualized student programs.

The role supports planning, documentation, supervision, and daily care tasks, including medical and personal-hygiene assistance, under district guidelines. 10 months, 12.5 hours/week, FTE 0.3125.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance required.
• Experience with special needs preferred.
• Able to lift at least 30 pounds.
• First Aid/CPR certification may be district-provided.
• Proficient in English language (spoken & written).
• Spanish and ASL knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in formulating individualized student programs.
• Assists in classroom planning and preparation.
• Completes paperwork for individualized curricula (IEP).
• Supports in total school functions and extracurricular activities.
• Helps students develop social and work skills.
• Assists with medical needs of children and personal hygiene tasks.
• Supports with behavior modification and classroom discipline.
