Job summary

The Salt Lake City School District Open Classroom is seeking a Paraprofessional II (SPED) for a part-time role in Salt Lake City, UT. You will work with students in small groups, support lesson delivery, and assist with IEP goals while promoting a positive learning environment.

Starting wage is $19.00 hourly with no benefits eligibility. The role requires een fingerprinting, a background check, and completion of required certifications within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of college or an associate degree, or PRAXIS score 460+.
• CPR & First Aid certification within 2 months of hire.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English with good grammar.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and basic office devices.

Responsibilities

• Assist and supervise students in general education and follow IEP needs.
• Provide small group instruction and classroom interventions.
• Administer assessments and help evaluate student progress.
• Collect data related to EIP or FBA/BIP as directed.
• Maintain safety and report incidents per district policies.
• Perform basic math and support learning activities as assigned.
• Collaborate with teachers and participate in meetings and trainings.
