Job summary

Salt Lake City School District is seeking a Paraprofessional II (SPED) for East High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. The role is part-time, non-contract, and non-exempt, with a starting wage of $19.00 per hour and a 0.7375 FTE (up to 29.5 hours per week).

The paraprofessional supports students in resource classrooms, assists with IEPs, and helps develop daily living and behavioral skills while maintaining a welcoming learning environment. Strong English communication and basic math are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years at an accredited college (48 credits) or an associate degree.
• CRP/First Aid certification and Safe Care/Health trainings as required.
• Effective communication with children and adults in English; strong grammar.

Responsibilities

• Assist and supervise students per IEP needs and implement learning plans.
• Provide small group instruction and behavior support in classrooms.
• Administer assessments and help evaluate student progress with teachers.
• Collect student data related to IEPs and learning goals.
• Monitor students in various environments and ensure safety.
• Communicate effectively with staff, families, and diverse stakeholders.
• Maintain regular attendance and complete duties with minimal supervision.
