Salt Lake City School District is seeking a Paraprofessional II (SPED) for Whittier Elementary in Salt Lake City, Utah. The role is part-time, up to 29.5 hours weekly, with a starting wage of $19.00 hourly and non-contract status.

The position requires high school diploma or equivalent, ESSA-qualified, and completion of CPR/First Aid, Safety Care, and Health Services training. Candidates will support SPED students, maintain IEP goals, and collaborate with teachers.

Qualifications

• Requires fingerprinting and background check.
• Minimum HS diploma and Highly Qualified per ESSA with two years college or an associate degree or Paraprofessional Assessment score 460+.
• Transcripts or diploma must be provided with application or offer.
• CPR & First Aid certificate within 2 months of hire.
• Complete Safety Care and Annual Health Services Training.
• Strong English communication, including reading and writing.
• Math skills including fractions, percentages, ratios.
• Experience with standard office equipment and MS Office.

Responsabilités

• Assist and supervise students in general education classes per IEP needs.
• Support small group instruction and classroom interventions.
• Administer assessments under teacher direction and track progress.
• Collect student data related to IEPs and EIP/FBA/BIP as directed.
• Monitor students in various settings and supervise playground activities.
• Report incidents and follow district policies for safety.
• Administer first aid/CPR when needed and adhere to safety practices.
• Maintain confidentiality and collaborate with school staff.

Formation

High school diploma or equivalent
