Job summary

Stone Mountain Middle School is seeking a SPED Paraprofessional to support teachers in delivering high academic expectations and assisting students with physical, personal, and health-related needs as outlined by IEPs.

Responsibilities include providing small group or one-on-one instruction, maintaining a safe learning environment, and assisting with data collection and progress monitoring under a certified special education teacher.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
• Associate degree or higher from a Georgia PSC-approved college/university.
• 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours with GPA 2.0+ from a Georgia PSC-approved college/university.
• Valid Georgia PSC paraprofessional certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Assists students with physical and personal care needs per IEP and district policy.
• Provides small group and individualized instruction per teacher plans.
• Monitors students during non-instructional periods and supports classroom management.
• Assists with assessment of student performance and data collection.
• Implements accommodations and modifications per IEPs and maintains confidentiality.
