Job summary

Boston Public Schools Perkins Elementary in Boston, Massachusetts, seeks a Paraprofessional to support teachers in a high‑quality SPED program. You will assist with instruction, prepare materials, and help create a positive classroom environment for students.

Responsibilities include supervising students on field trips, managing behavior using prescribed approaches, and helping with setup and cleanup. A High School Diploma or GED and two years’ experience with young children are required.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • 48 college credits or an Associate's Degree or ParaPro/WorkKeys certification.
  • Minimum of two years experience working with young children.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Supports direct instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings.
  • Provides assistance with classroom activities.
  • Prepares instructional materials.
  • Assists in classroom set up and clean up.
  • Manages individual and classroom behavior, using prescribed approaches.
  • Supervises students on field trip activities.
  • Performs other related duties as requested by Head of School/Principal.

Education

High School Diploma or GED
