Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional to assist teachers in delivering an innovative, high-quality education program for students. The role involves supporting instruction, preparing materials, and helping maintain a productive classroom environment.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED, 48 college credits or an Associate's degree (or ParaPro/WorkKeys), and at least two years of experience with young children. US work authorization is required at start.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• 48 college credits / Associate's degree or equivalent, or ParaPro/WorkKeys passing score.
• Minimum of two years experience working with young children.
• Current authorization to work in the United States by first day of employment.
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Certification as a teacher or license as a social worker is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supports direct instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings.
• Provides assistance with classroom activities.
• Prepares instructional materials.
• Assists in classroom set up and clean up.
• Manages individual and classroom behavior using prescribed approaches.
• Supervises students on field trips.
• Performs other related duties as requested by Head of School/Principal.
