Job summary

Dallas Independent School District is seeking a SPED Inclusion Teacher Assistant for PK-8 at Solar Preparatory School For Girls At James B Bonham in Dallas. The assistant supports students with disabilities, helps prepare instructional materials, maintains a neat classroom, and assists with supervision inside and outside the classroom.

The position requires an accredited high school diploma or equivalent, plus a paraprofessional certificate; preferred is completion of a teacher assistant

Qualifications

• Accredited high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Paraprofessional certificate is required from State Board of Certification.
• Previous experience with students with disabilities is preferred.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and displays.
• Maintain a neat, orderly classroom and support student needs.
• Supervise students inside and outside the classroom, including lunch and transport periods.
• Assist students with physical disabilities, transfers, and personal care as needed.
• Support administrative records, reports, and substitutes orientation.
• Contribute to behavior management and crisis intervention as required.
• Maintain confidentiality and participate in staff development.
