Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a directly related field.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with Special Education endorsements.
• One year of student teaching or approved internship.
• Demonstrated willingness to improve competency through professional growth.
• Demonstrated knowledge of ARD process and IEP goal setting.
• Knowledge of curriculum and instruction and ability to apply to SPED.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents and staff to develop IEPs through ARD.
• Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs and document preparation.
• Modify regular curricula and aid students in regular classes.
• Employ diverse instructional techniques and media for each student.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement.
• Manage behavior and assist with crises per IEP guidelines.
• Consult with teachers about behavior management and resource coordination.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, district and school regulations for SPED.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in a directly related field

Valid Texas teacher certificate with required Special Education endorsements

One year of student teaching or approved internship
