USD 259 School District seeks an Interrelated Elementary Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The role focuses on planning, delivering, and monitoring instruction for identified SPED students, aligned to IEP goals and capacity growth.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to implement individualized plans and track student outcomes. The position emphasizes collaboration with regular education staff, data-driven instruction, and ongoing assessment.

Qualifications

  • Valid Kansas Teaching License required.
  • Adaptive Endorsement required; Primary Teachers must have K-9 or K-6 Certification.
  • Master's in Special Education or enrolled in a Special Education Degree Program with Plan of Study on file with District and Special Education Waiver obtained.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in IEP meetings with multi-disciplinary team to diagnose needs and implement IEPs.
  • Defines and communicates daily expectations per IEP, including goals, objectives, and learning activities.
  • Communicates with regular education staff about instructional strategies and student outcomes.
  • Maintains daily records and reports progress, coordinating schedules and communication with parents and staff.
  • Manages classroom behavior and adapts content to student needs, supporting learning objectives in small groups or individually.
  • Prepares, presents, and reinforces activities aligned to assessments and student learning objectives.
  • Ensures appropriate grading systems and data entry for student progress.
