Job summary

USD #499 Liberty Elementary is seeking an Instructional Paraeducator to assist in supervising, caring for, and instructing students with special needs in regular education classrooms and resource rooms. This role supports implementing instructional plans, monitoring behavior, and providing information to school personnel under supervision of the Special Education Teacher.

Position may serve students across Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary settings, including mild to moderate

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have 48 college hours or qualify via Master Teacher Online Exam within 90 days.
• 20 hours per year of in-service training required.

Responsibilities

• Adapts and provides accommodations under teacher direction for students with special needs.
• Aids students in and out of the classroom and supports social growth.
• Assists students with personal care needs as appropriate for participation in school life.
• Participates in trainings to maintain and improve instructional skills and state requirements.
• Collaborates with staff regarding student progress and IEP goals.
