Job summary

Columbia Memorial Hospital is seeking an organized, detail‑oriented Laboratory Clerk to process patient specimens and support test ordering for inpatient and outpatient samples. Candidates should have a High School Diploma, data entry and phone skills, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior data entry skills required.
• Excellent phone skills required.
• Strong organizational skills for completion of office and specimen processing duties required.
• Must be able to work independently.
• 1 year minimum Clinical Laboratory experience in a processing area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process patient specimens for testing in the laboratory.
• Order tests for inpatient and outpatient samples; arrange on-site or transport to reference lab.
• Answer phones and report results verbally, by fax, or in hard copy.
