Responsibilities

• Prepare biological specimens for examination
• Label and record information; deliver specimens to laboratory departments
• Pack and ship specimens to reference labs
• Assist with preanalytical workflow and receiving
• Monitor LIS orders and reconcile outstanding orders
• Inventory management and procurement for laboratory supplies
• Maintain logs for temperature, humidity, eyewash and emergency showers
• Backfill accessioning room coverage and enter outpatient orders
• Prepare patient blood smears/slides for staining and analysis
• Assist with waived testing and POC duties as needed
• Support outreach and insource client questions about specimens
