Rochester Regional Health in Rochester, NY is seeking a part-time Specimen Management Tech to support the Laboratory - Specimen Processing team. The role involves data entry, specimen labeling, and preparing samples for testing within the Rochester Regional system, located at 160 Elmgrove Pk, Elmgrove, NY 14624.

The position requires working Monday to Friday with 4-hour shifts and on-call duties every 6-8 weeks, including Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Data entry accuracy and speed.
• Medical terminology related to lab workflows.
• Understanding of billing issues is preferred.
• Enrollment in Medical Technology program for students is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Enter and label specimens accurately and timely.
• Prepare specimens for testing and ensure proper labeling.
• Operate or retrieve requisitions and may use imaging systems as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of HIS and LIS systems and navigate them correctly.
• Communicate with floors and physicians regarding test orders and specimen requirements.
• Transport specimens as needed and assist with transfer paperwork.
