Job summary

Qualifications

• Must understand written instructions and transmit information correctly.
• Data entry, computer skills required for accurate testing order processing.
• Billing awareness helpful for coding and invoicing within lab workflows.

Responsibilities

• Performs data entry and labeling of laboratory samples accurately and timely.
• Prepares laboratory samples accurately and timely for laboratory testing.
• Communicates effectively with floors and physicians regarding testing, results, and sample requirements.
• May transport specimens to the department and prepare paperwork for transfers to other departments or reference labs.
• Maintains knowledge of HIS and LIS systems and basic computer operations.
