Job summary

PeaceHealth in Oregon is seeking a Lab Assistant - Specimen Management for a full-time Day position. You will support specimen collection, labeling, processing, and LIS data entry, contributing to patient care and efficient lab operations.

The role requires a high school diploma; phlebotomy training or experience is preferred. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment and uphold safety standards is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Prior clinical laboratory experience is preferred.
• 6 months phlebotomy experience or completion of a phlebotomy program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, deliver, and pick up items following health and safety regulations to ensure specimen integrity.
• Collect and label specimens for testing and document processing.
• Data entry of patient demographics and tests ordered; handle paperwork and procedures.
• Receive, handle, sort, and process specimens.
• Provide information to clients/patients about specimen requirements and test results using LIS.
