Job summary

PeaceHealth is seeking a Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The role supports patient care through phlebotomy, specimen handling, LIS use, and lab reporting. The position emphasizes teamwork, accuracy, and adherence to safety procedures.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, with preferred clinical lab experience and strong communication skills for patient interaction. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred; MA/Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Experience in a clinical laboratory setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, deliver, and pick up items to ensure specimen integrity and patient safety.
• Collect, label, and process specimens for testing with accurate documentation.
• Enter patient demographics and test data in LIS; handle paperwork and submissions.
• Receive, sort, and package specimens while maintaining workflow.
• Answer questions about specimen requirements and test results for clients.
• Perform waived testing and escalate abnormal results per SOP.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
