Job summary

Sentara Healthcare Inc. seeks a Pharmacy Technician for the Proprium Pharmacy Fulfillment Center in Chesapeake, VA. The role involves filling and delivering medications under pharmacist supervision, ensuring supplies for patient care, and validating processing with Epic/Omnicell systems.

The position is full-time, with rotating day shifts from 8 AM to 5 PM and occasional Saturdays at the Proprium facility, offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
• CPhT License (Preferred)
• 1 Year Pharmacy Experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner.
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information.
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements.
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately.

Location: Chesapeake, VA 23320

Status: Full Time (40 hours/week)

Shift: Rotating Days shift

Hours: 8AM-5PM

Occasional Saturdays

The Specialty Pharmacy Tech performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
