Responsibilities

• Demonstrates advanced technical skills and ownership of the work area.
• Demonstrates the ability to work independently defined areas of pharmacy practice competently.
• Assumes local and/or system responsibility for assigned tasks related to advanced clinical job positions.
• Participates in the training of new employees.
• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner.
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician’s scope of practice as needed.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information.
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements.
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately.
• Participates in clinical initiatives to continuously improve patient care.
• Training in an advanced Clinical Pharmacy Technician job function.
• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

_ Preferred experience and/or qualifications: prior inpatient or hospital experience preferred. _

• Demonstrates advanced technical skills and ownership of the work area

located in Norfolk, VA, is a 274-bed acute care facility that opened in 1903 and relocated to its present site in 1977.
