Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our Portland, OR team. Schedule is 1st Shift PRN, with responsibilities including receiving and sorting clinical lab specimens and preparing them for testing. You will also perform data entry and maintain documentation and a safe, clean work area.

The role requires basic computer skills and the ability to pass a color blindness test, with potential overtime and fast-paced production demands. Relevant lab or healthcare exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.

• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance.
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards.

LabCorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Portland, OR.
Work Schedule: 1st Shift PRN
Job Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  

Preferred Qualification

• Current or prior LabCorp experience
• 6 months in the healthcare industry, such as a physician's office, clinic or hospital
• 6 months of experience in an assembly or manufacturing production environment
• 6 months experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience

• Comfortability with handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
