Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Vancouver, WA. The role involves receiving and sorting clinical lab specimens, preparing samples for testing, and performing data entry with accuracy.

The position follows a 7:30am-4:00pm schedule, Monday through Friday, and requires attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED and may benefit from prior LabCorp experience or healthcare exposure.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Preferred: LabCorp experience and healthcare exposure.
  • Experience in assembly or manufacturing production is a plus.
  • Experience in medical/clinical laboratory settings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
  • Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
  • Scan and data entry of specimen and patient information
  • Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
  • Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
  • Replenish test bench supplies as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards

LabCorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team Vancouver, WA.
Work Schedule

Monday to Friday 7:30am-4:00pm

Job Responsibilities
  • Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
  • Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
  • Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
  • Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
  • Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
  • Replenish test bench supplies as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred Qualification
  • Current or prior LabCorp experience
  • 6 months of experience in the healthcare industry, such as a physician's office, clinic or hospital
  • 6 months of experience in an assembly or manufacturing production environment
  • 6 months of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience
Additional Job Standards
  • Comfortability with handling biological specimens
  • Ability to accurately identify specimens
  • Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime as neededPay Range: $20.00 - $24.98 per hour plus shift differential
