Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a dedicated individual to join their Specimen Processing and Accessioning team in Portland, OR. This 3rd shift role focuses on preparing specimens for analysis, labeling, packing, and accurate data entry to support high-volume testing operations.

Prior Labcorp experience is preferred, with emphasis on meticulous specimen handling and teamwork. The role requires lifting up to 40 lbs, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced lab environment while adhering to

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Preferred Labcorp experience is valued.
  • 6 months or more experience in a lab or specimen processing.
  • 6 months or more experience in a medical/clinical laboratory setting.
  • 6 months or more experience in the healthcare industry such as a physician’s office, clinic or hospital.
  • 6 months or more experience in an assembly or manufacturing production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
  • Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas.
  • Accurately identify and label specimens.
  • Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities.
  • Meet department activity and production goals.
  • Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
  • Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Resolve and document any problem specimens.

Work Schedule: 3rd Shift

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing

  • Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas

  • Accurately identify and label specimens

  • Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities

  • Meet department activity and production goals

  • Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples

  • Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner

Minimum Qualification:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
PreferredQualification:
  • Current or prior Labcorp experience

  • 6 monthsor more ofexperiencein alab or specimen processing

  • 6 monthsor more ofexperiencein amedical/clinical laboratoryexperience

  • 6 months or more ofexperiencein the healthcare industry, such as a physician’s office,clinicor hospital

Additional Job Standards:
  • Comfortable handling biological specimens

  • Ability to accurately identify specimens

  • Experience working in a team environment

  • Strong data entry and organizational skills

  • High level of attention to detail

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs.

  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
