Job summary

L'Auberge Lake Charles is looking for a skilled sushi chef to provide outstanding customer service and maintain high standards in food preparation. Job description

Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. Responsibilities
  • Provides superior customer service, positively affecting interactions with customers and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult customers in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers.
  • Assists all stations and respective lines as necessary.
  • Trains personnel to prepare sushi foods according to Pinnacle Entertainment, inc.’s standards.
  • Ensures that items are fully stocked and equipment is in good working condition.
  • Ensures the proper storing of any leftover foods.
  • Ensures the proper closing down of work stations.
  • Communicates effectively with front‑of‑the‑house staff.
  • Communicates effectively with restaurant guests at the sushi bar.
  • Ensures cleanliness of working area and reports all equipment for safety failures, hazardous areas, and accidents.
  • Works in an environment subject to varying levels of heat, noise, and potential hazards such as wet floors, heavy‑duty cutlery, knives, and choppers.
  • Inspects and maintains all areas for which responsible.
  • Reviews and comprehends all necessary documentation.
  • Uses all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, choppers, slicers, mixers, and grinders.
  • Moves effectively and efficiently around the work area.
  • Lifts, moves, and pushes or pulls up to 50 pounds throughout an 8‑hour shift.
  • Communicates effectively with customers and all levels of employees.
  • Observes and directs actions of subordinates.
Qualifications

Knowledge of and ability to prepare stocks, soups, and mother sauces. Ability to prepare all varieties of meat and seafood. Hands‑on cooking experience: minimum 2 years progressive cooking experience, or completion of a Culinary Arts Degree or recognized apprenticeship, plus a minimum of 6 months of sushi preparation and cooking experience.
