Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Specialty Account Coordinator to manage patient account coordination including insurance verification, denials management, and collections. You will identify patient assistance programs (drug copay cards) and help enroll patients while monitoring services and billing funds.

Strong knowledge of claims procedures and ophthalmology billing is essential. You will communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and insurance companies, and act as a resource for colleagues

Qualifications

• Some college hours in Business/Finance/Accounting preferred.
• Minimum 3 years related experience required.
• Interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate insurance verification, benefits, denials, and collections.
• Identify and enroll patients in applicable assistance programs.
• Monitor services and bill the assistance programs for funds.
• Understand ophthalmology claims procedures and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and insurers.
