Job summary

Mercy in the United States is seeking a Specialty Account Coordinator to manage patient accounts through insurance verification, denials management, and collections, ensuring accurate billing and timely cash flow.

You will help patients access assistance programs, monitor services, and ensure compliance with ophthalmology coding and billing, while collaborating with physicians, staff, and insurers to uphold Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications

• Education: Some college hours in Business, Finance and/or Accounting related courses preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient accounts across insurance verification, denials management, and collections.
• Identify and enroll patients in assistance programs (e.g., drug copay cards) and bill the programs.
• Monitor service delivery and ensure compliance with claims procedures and insurance company regulations.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and insurers.
• Serve as a resource for other staff and maintain Mercy Service Standards.
