Job summary

Maltby Elementary in Snohomish, WA seeks a Paraeducator for Structured Learning Center under Monroe School District. The role supports instructional staff, assists students with diverse needs, and helps implement IEPs and behavior plans within a collaborative team.

Requirements include a high school diploma or higher, possible associate degree or credits, certifications (First Aid/CPR/AED), and completion of required trainings. Position is part-time with a 8:40–3:40 shift, 180 days/year.

Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent AND
• Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university, OR
• Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher, OR
• Completed an apprenticeship as a paraeducator, in a program registered with the WA Apprenticeship Council, OR
• Received a passing score on PESB-approved assessments

Responsibilities

• Assist instructional personnel with presentation of learning materials and instructional programs
• Work with students with a wide range of physical, mental, social and behavioral disabilities
• Tutor individuals and small groups to reinforce learning activities
• Monitor and assist students in drill, practice, and study activities
• Direct students into safe learning activities and help shape appropriate social behaviors
• Assist in preparing instructional materials and learning aids as directed
