Job summary

Columbus Bank and Trust Company is seeking a Specialist Loan Operations to lead the preparation and management of loan documentation, data accuracy, and customer inquiries. The role supports loan boarding, billing, and post-close audits while ensuring compliance with bank procedures.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in Loan Operations or Retail Banking.
• Understanding of operations, loan accruals, GL transfers and clearing accounts.
• Excellent prioritization and time management skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and some evenings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all loan documentation accurately and timely; maintain loan files and input, update and oversee loan data in the system; assemble and verify loan documents and billing.
• Assist in identifying and implementing enhancements to site procedures, training and technology to support customer retention and profitability.
• Manage accuracy of boarding of loans and updates of the Loan Accounting System; ensure accurate processing of billing notices and postings; handle address change notifications.
• Answer inquiries regarding payoffs, account maintenance, note modifications, beneficiaries and other loan details; maintain loan records.
• Demonstrate teamwork and positive collaboration to advocate for customers and employees.
• Assemble and verify loan documentation during post-close audits and monitor incomplete documentation.
• Refer customers to other bank products and services; assist with other bank functions as needed.
• May include personal banker duties and participation in bank committees.

Columbus Bank and Trust Company is a locally owned, home town bank that originally opened its doors on February 2, 1935 and has remained in local ownership for over 80 years. The original owners were R.V. Prokop, J.H. Moeller, and W.E. Barkley. The Bradley Family took ownership in 1938 and retained ownership until July of 2013 when a local group of investors purchased the bank appointing Jeff Johnson as President and Chairman of the Board.

The Bank has grown substantially in many ways over the past few years. In 2004, the East Highway 30 location was opened, and since then several renovations to the main bank building have occurred. Position Description

As a Specialist Loan Operations, you’ll take a lead role in delivering an outstanding experience to Columbus Bank and Trust customers. You’ll acquire, manage, and retain meaningful relationships with our customers, using your financial knowledge to offer thoughtful solutions to help address their financial needs. You’ll contribute to the success of the bank by:

• Responsible for preparation of all loan documentation accurately and timely. Maintains all loan files and applicable reporting. Inputs, updates, and oversees accuracy of loan data into financial institution computer system. Assembles and verifies loan documents, transactions, and billings for accuracy
• Assist in the identification and implementation of enhancements to site procedures, training and technology in support of the enhancement of customer retention/satisfaction, the revenue and profitability objectives of Columbus Bank and Trust.
• Manage accuracy of boarding of loans assigned along with maintenance and updates of the Loan Accounting System. Ensure accurate processing of billing notices and posting of payments. Handle change of address notifications for the financial institution.
• Answering telephone, written inquiries and assisting customers with inquiries regarding payoffs, account maintenance, note modifications, beneficiaries and other loan details concerning loan processing and information. Maintaining financial institution loan records.
• Demonstrate organizational advocacy through positive teamwork, trust and mutual respect for customers and employees.
• Assemble and verify accuracy of loan documentation through post close audits. Monitor and report all incomplete or pending documentation exceptions on the tickler management system.

• Contribute to the overall success of Columbus Bank and Trust by actively referring customers to alternative products and services offered within the bank

• Assist with other bank functions as needed. This may include personal banker duties and participating in bank committees.

Desired:
