Job summary

TruPartner Credit Union in Cincinnati, OH, is seeking a Loan Documentation Specialist to be the final quality checkpoint for consumer loan files after approval. You will review applications, correct omissions, and support error-free closings before funds are disbursed.

You’ll work with MSRs and branches to ensure complete, accurate documents and proper signatures, with notary duties preferred and a strong focus on compliance and file integrity.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years in banking, credit union ops, or consumer loan processing.
  • Hands-on experience with processing loan collateral.
  • Experience handling lending-related insurance products.
  • Ohio Notary Public commission preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of credit union loan products and collateral documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Review consumer loan files initiated by MSRs prior to signing, catching and correcting missing fields, unverified income, or formatting errors.
  • Coordinate with MSRs and branches to prepare documents for closings, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Explain complex lending forms to retail staff to obtain exact signatures and reduce omissions.
  • Provide constructive feedback on file quality to reduce repetitive errors.
  • Ensure loans are scanned and archived for easy retrieval in the imaging system.
  • Assist with lien filings and releases; serve as backup for the Loan Collateral Specialist.
  • Support the Lending Operations Manager to maximize process efficiencies and improve the loan origination system.
  • Maintain both electronic and paper loan files.
  • Organize member accounts and loan records; keep the file room up to date.
  • Assist with record retention projects to support audits and compliance.
  • Assist with notarization of documents (Ohio notary preferred).
  • Stay informed of changes in collection, collateral and record retention policies and related legal requirements.

Loan Documentation Specialist

TruPartner Credit Union - Cincinnati, Ohio

TruPartner Credit Union is looking for a proven Loan Documentation Specialist for our consumer loans. Reporting to the VP of Lending, you'll be the final quality control checkpoint for our lending department. This role assists branches with the lending pipeline after loans have been approved and are ready for closing. The primary objective is to review loan applications, eliminate documentation omissions, and assist with the execution of error-free loan closings before funds are disbursed to members.

Location & Hours

Based out of the Main Office, serving all locations. Core coverage is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and Saturday 9 AM to 1 PM, with the specific schedule divided among the MSR team and manager.

What You'll Do
  • Reviews consumer loan files initiated by MSRs prior to signing, actively catching and correcting missing fields, unverified income, or formatting errors.
  • Coordinate with MSRs and branch team, preparing documents for upcoming closings to ensure all documents are complete, accurate and ready for member signatures.
  • Walks retail staff through complex consumer lending forms, so they can obtain exact signatures, and eliminate trailing document omissions.
  • Partners diplomatically with MSRs, providing constructive feedback on file quality to reduce repetitive errors.
  • Ensures loans are scanned and archived to allow for easy retrieval in the credit union's imaging system.
  • Assists Loan Collateral Specialist with lien filings and releases. Serves as backup in their absence.
  • Works with the Lending Operations Manager to maximize efficiencies in the lending process. Helps to optimize the functionality of the loan origination system.
  • Maintains loan files - both electronic and paper.
  • Organizes member account and loan records and keeps the file room up-to-date.
  • Assists with record retention projects to ensure efficient audits and compliance.
  • Assists with notarization of documents (Ohio notary public commission is preferred)
  • Stays informed of changes in collection, collateral and record retention policies, procedures, and related legal requirements.

What We're Looking For:

  • 1-3 years in banking, credit union operations, title companies, or consumer loan processing
  • Previous hands-on experience with processing loan collateral.
  • Previous experience handling lending-related insurance products.
  • Active Ohio Notary Public commission is preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of credit union loan products and services including all associated loan documentation
  • Solid understanding of collateral types and the specific documentation required to record and release liens.
  • Comprehensive understanding of lending-related insurance products

Good to Know:

This is a 100% in-office role. The hours of the job are Monday-Friday 8:30-5:30 with some Saturdays from 9:00-1:00
