Job summary

Casa Grande Elementary School District Transportation in Casa Grande, AZ, is seeking a Bus Driver - Special Needs for the 26/27 SY to transport special needs students on scheduled routes and to/from excursions. The role requires ensuring the vehicle is safe and students are safe during loading and unloading.

Responsibilities include supervising students, reporting incidents, conducting pre-trip/post-trip inspections, attending trainings, and performing vehicle maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• Alcohol and Drug Test
• Pre-placement Physical Exam
• Criminal Justice fingerprint/background clearance
• Random drug testing

Responsibilities

• Advises students and other passengers of appropriate behavior
• Assesses incidents, complaints, accidents and/or potential emergency situations
• Assists Bus Assistant, students and other passengers
• Attends meetings, trainings, etc.
• Cleans assigned vehicles, both interior and exterior
• Conducts emergency evacuation drills
• Drives school bus/s
• Fuels assigned vehicle, (e.g. oil, water, fuel, etc.)
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections, (e.g. fluid levels, tire pressure, exterior condition, etc.)
• Prepares documents and reports, (e.g. field trip reports, incident reports, inspection records, passenger misconduct, mileage logs, student counts, MIPS forms, etc.)
• Reports observations and/or incidents, (e.g. discipline, accidents, inappropriate social behavior, health, etc.)
• Responds to inquiries, (e.g. students, parents, other school personnel, etc.)
• Supervises students and other passengers during transit
• Assists other personnel as may be required
