Job summary

Casa Grande Elementary School District Transportation is seeking a Special Needs Bus Driver for the SY 26/27. You will transport special needs students on scheduled routes and assist with loading/unloading and safe vehicle operation.

This is a 10-month, school-year position with benefits, typically 25–40 hours per week, and a starting wage of $19.40 per hour depending on experience. The district provides training and ongoing safety measures for drivers.

Qualifications

• Alcohol and Drug Test
• Pre-placement Physical Exam
• Criminal Justice fingerprint/background clearance
• Random drug testing

Responsibilities

• Advises students and other passengers of appropriate behavior
• Assesses incidents, complaints, accidents and/or potential emergency situations
• Assists Bus Assistant, students and other passengers
• Attends meetings, trainings, etc.
• Cleans assigned vehicles, both interior and exterior
• Conducts emergency evacuation drills
• Drives school bus/s
• Fuels assigned vehicle, (e.g. oil, water, fuel, etc.)
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections, (e.g. fluid levels, tire pressure, exterior condition, etc.)
• Prepares documents and reports, (e.g. field trip reports, incident reports, inspection records, passenger misconduct, mileage logs, student counts, MIPS forms, etc.)
• Reports observations and/or incidents, (e.g. discipline, accidents, inappropriate social behavior, health, etc.)
• Responds to inquires, (e.g. students, parents, other school personnel, etc.)
• Supervises students and other passengers during transit
• Assists other personnel as may be required

• Ensuring vehicle is in safe operating condition
• Ensuring safety of students during transport, loading and unloading from buses

Experience is desired. Full time with Benefits - 25-40 hrs. per week. $19.40 per hour - depending on experience; w/Certificate. The District trains new bus drivers.
