Job summary

Vivalon is seeking Special Needs Attendants to support adults with disabilities during transportation services. You will work with professional drivers to ensure safe, comfortable, and dignified travel, making a meaningful impact in the community.

Starting pay is $22.25 per hour with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week and a Monday–Friday schedule. Paid training is provided as part of a supportive, mission-driven nonprofit culture.

Qualifications

• Friendly, reliable, and committed to excellent customer service.
• Genuine desire to help others and support individuals with disabilities.
• Valid California Driver’s License or California ID Card.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Attend a 5-day paid training program in San Rafael, CA (commute stipend provided).
• Two professional references.
• Ability to pass a background check for this safety-sensitive position.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and comply with federally required random testing.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and assisting clients during transit.
• Supporting drivers with the safe loading and unloading of passengers.
• Properly using wheelchair securements, safety restraints, and seat belts.
• Providing compassionate support to individuals with disabilities.
• Communicating passenger needs and concerns to drivers and management.
• Maintaining professional, respectful, and positive interactions with clients, coworkers, and community members.
• Following all health, safety, and transportation procedures.
