Job summary

Cherry Creek School District is seeking a Before and After School Support Leader to assist students with special education needs, supporting individual and small-group activities, and implementing behavior strategies and learning goals.

Responsibilities include following licensing requirements, preparing materials, documenting progress, and communicating with parents, staff, and the program director to ensure safe, inclusive after-school care.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.
• Leader must be age 18 or over.
• At least three months (455 hours) of verified care/supervision experience.
• Current early childhood professional credential level I or higher (ECPC 3.0).
• Each year, June 1 through May 31, complete at least 15 clock hours of training.
• Knowledge of most aspects of childcare.
• Ability to develop and utilize appropriate discipline procedures.
• Some leadership and management skill.
• Ability to make appropriate decisions and solve problems effectively.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow and enforce all Colorado licensing requirements; adapt programming for individual children.
• Provide technical physical care for children with special needs (toileting, feeding, mobility) and administer medication if needed.
• Implement accommodations and 504 plan procedures; maintain progress records and report observations to the program director.
• Maintain safety protocols; reinforce appropriate behavior and support social/communication development.
• Assist with materials, attendance, documentation and events like fire drills.
• Exhibit strong communication with parents, students, school staff, and district staff.
• Attend professional development trainings required by licensing and the district.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
