Job summary

City of Redwood City is seeking a Recreation and Community Services Program Coordinator – Special Events to oversee staff, vendors, operations and services within assigned recreation and community programs. The role emphasizes development and marketing of events, partnership with local organizations and sponsorship processes to sustain events programming.

Minimum qualifications include two years of program delivery experience and education in recreation programming; a valid driver's license is

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in delivering recreation and community service programs, preferably in special events.
• Equivalent to graduation from high school and two years of post-secondary education including coursework in recreation programming or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, coordination and day-to-day implementation of assigned programs to meet community needs.
• Recruit, interview, hire, train and supervise staff; perform staff evaluations.
• Coordinate with City departments, outside agencies and community organizations for partnerships and program continuity.
• Schedule personnel, facilities and equipment; develop program content and activities.
