Job summary

The City of Calistoga is seeking a dynamic Recreation Coordinator to organize and oversee a variety of recreation programs for the community. This role requires coordinating staff and volunteers, supporting events, and ensuring programs are engaging, safe, and financially viable.

You will work closely with city departments, schools, and local organizations to deliver quality experiences for residents of all ages, while maintaining excellent customer service and adherence to safety policies.

Qualifications

  • Three years of recreation program coordination experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in recreation administration or related field.
  • Valid California Driver's License; AED/First Aid/CPR certifications (or ability to obtain).
  • Bilingual skills are desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee recreation programs, including youth/adult sports, fitness classes, senior programming, aquatics, camps, and events.
  • Oversee budgets and set participant fees using cost recovery tools; advise on future budget needs.
  • Coordinate scheduling and use of facilities and athletic fields for city programs, rentals, and groups.
  • Build relationships with schools, preschools, and community organizations to promote programs.
  • Provide friendly, professional customer service in person, by phone, and email; assist with registration and inquiries.
