Job summary

The Hunter Museum of American Art seeks a customer service oriented team player to ensure guest satisfaction during special events and to assist with event needs such as setting up, breaking down, serving food and beverages, etc. The role includes assisting with setup and breakdown, serving as a special events bartender, pulling bar products, recording amounts, and maintaining sanitary conditions.

Must have ABC license and driver’s license; bartending and food service experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have ABC license and driver’s license.
• Bartending experience preferred; knowledge of bartending tools, batching, and craft/custom cocktails.
• General housekeeping and grounds keeping skills.
• Food service experience preferred.
• Ability to take direction and to work as part of a team.
• Ability to stand for 3-5 hours at a time, lift and transport objects up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with set up and break down of equipment used during special events as needed.
• Serve as a special events bartender for private and public events.
• Pull bar products for private and Museum events; record amounts used and returned from catering kitchen.
• Use customer service skills to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Interact with guests during private events or Museum events.
• Maintain sanitary conditions of facilities before, during and after events.
• Work with caterers, vendors, and staff to ensure quality and adherence to Museum guidelines.
• Resolve problems during events to ensure smooth operations.
• Share information with clients to ensure an educational and enjoyable experience.
