Job summary

HealthPRO Pediatrics, a division of HealthPRO Heritage, is hiring a Special Education Teacher for Easton, MD, starting this August. This full-time W2 role serves elementary and high school students with disabilities, primarily in general education settings during school hours.

You will collaborate with school staff and families, conduct screenings and evaluations, and contribute to IEP development while maintaining required documentation and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Must be Maryland-certified Special Education Teacher.
  • Experience collaborating with culturally diverse families.
  • Committed to ongoing professional development.
  • Experience conducting initial screenings and evaluations as part of IEP.

Responsibilities

  • Consult and collaborate with school staff and families regarding students’ educational deficits.
  • Conduct initial screenings and comprehensive evaluations; participate in IEP development for students qualifying for Special Education services.
  • Provide Special Education sessions through using current best practices based on prescribed services in the IEP.
  • Maintain all district documentation including notes, monthly summaries, and annual IEPs.

Position Details
  • Full-time, W2 position
  • Pay Rate: $42-$46.00/hour
  • Candidates must be certified Special Education Teachers
  • Age Groups: Elementary and High School students
  • Disabilities on caseload primarily include:
    • Other Health Impairments (OHI)
    • Learning Disabilities
    • Autism
    • Language Impairments
  • Caseload is fluid, typically serving approximately 10–15 students at any given time
  • Services are primarily provided within the general education setting during standard school hours

Responsibilities

Qualifications

Special education teachers work with students who have a wide range of learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities. They adapt general education lessons and teach various subjects, such as reading, writing, and math, to students with mild and moderate disabilities. They also teach basic skills, such as literacy and communication techniques, to students with severe disabilities.

  • Must be certified Special Education Teacher in the state of Maryland.
  • Have successful experience working with culturally diverse families.
  • Assumes responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development
