Job summary

Milford Public Schools is seeking a Full-time Special Education Teacher for the Milestones Sub-Separate Program as a long-term substitute at Woodland Elementary School. The role covers October 2026 through February 2027, with ongoing collaboration among teachers, aides, and the Board Certified Behavior Analyst to support students with diverse needs.

The candidate should hold a Massachusetts License for Severe/Intensive or Mild/Moderate Special Needs, have ASD experience, and ABA/CPI training.

Qualifications

• Certification in Severe/Intensive or Mild/Moderate Special Needs required.
• Experience working with ASD children.
• Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) training.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and develop programs for each student on caseload.
• Train and supervise assistants assigned to students on caseload.
• Hold monthly parent meetings and maintain consistent parent communication.
• Liaise for students and collaborate with the school team.
• Evaluate students and write assessment reports, IEPs, and progress notes.
• Modify and structure curriculum for student success.
• Provide small group and 1:1 instruction including Discrete Trial Training.
• Develop and implement behavior plans and monitor data collection.

Qualifications

• Mass. Department of Elementary & Secondary Education Teacher License - Severe/ Intensive or Mild/Moderate Special Needs certification
• Experience working with ASD children

Duties/Responsibility

• Responsible for data collection and data analysis
• Facilitate inclusion in general education classroom
• Keep teachers and administrators informed regarding student needs
• Work collaboratively with Board Certified Behavior Analyst
