Job summary

Ombudsman Educational Services in Illinois is seeking a Special Education Teacher to lead instructional planning for elementary students with IEPs in our learning centers. You will design personalized lessons, use innovative curriculum resources, and align to state standards.

This role emphasizes collaboration, PBIS, differentiation, and ongoing professional growth within a supportive team. IL Licensure and SSE/LBS1 credentials are required or in process; crisis management training is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education, special education, or related field.
• Current IL professional educator license or in process.
• Current or in-process IL SSE or LBS1 credential.
• Ability to obtain crisis management training certification.
• Experience with curriculum development, differentiation and instruction, preferably in alternate/special ed.

Responsibilities

• Create an inclusive, collaborative classroom environment involving students, parents, colleagues and admins.
• Implement PBIS strategies with consistent expectations and consequences.
• Track student progress, maintain files, and generate progress reports.
• Deliver differentiated instruction to meet IEP goals, solo or co-taught.
• Develop and update IEPs, goals, and interventions.
• Prepare detailed daily lesson plans aligned to standards.
• Manage classroom resources and maintain a safe learning environment.
