Qualifications

• Holds a valid Virginia or out-of-state teaching license in Special Education.
• Eligible for a Virginia teaching license in Special Education (transcripts required).
• Knowledge of LCPS curriculum and ability to apply current research to instruction.
• Ability to plan lessons based on Division and school objectives and student needs.

Responsibilities

• Continually assess student achievement and document progress for reporting.
• Plan instructional strategies and select appropriate materials and activities.
• Manage learner behavior to create a conducive learning environment.
• Coordinate instructional activities with other professional staff to maximize learning.
• Communicate with students and parents about progress and expectations.
