Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools is seeking a Special Education teacher to plan and deliver instructional programs and monitor student progress. You will work under supervision with a principal and/or administrator, across a team or department, possibly in science labs or education labs where monitoring is required.

You will assess learning, implement strategies, manage behavior, and coordinate with other professionals to support student success.

Qualifications

• Must hold Virginia or out-of-state license in Special Education.
• Ability to apply knowledge of curriculum and instructional methods.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Continually assess student achievement and maintain documentation.
• Plan and implement instructional strategies and learning activities.
• Manage learner behavior to maintain a conducive learning environment.
• Coordinate instructional activities with staff to maximize learning.
• Participate in in-service and professional development activities.
• Communicate progress to students and parents regularly.
• Collaborate with counselors, librarians, and others to support students.
