Qualifications

• Knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment of instructional specialty.
• Knowledge of pre-adolescent and adolescent growth and development.
• Knowledge of LCPS curriculum, goals and organization; apply current research to instruction.
• Skill in multi-media and computer technology to enhance learning; plan lessons for diverse students.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents; strong oral/written communication.

Responsibilities

• Continually assess student achievement and document progress for reports.
• Plan and implement instructional strategies and varied learning activities.
• Manage student behavior to maintain a conducive learning environment.
• Coordinate activities with other staff to maximize learning opportunities.
• Participate in in-service, professional development, and staff meetings.
• Communicate progress to students and parents regarding outcomes.
• Collaborate with counselors, librarians, and others for schoolwide initiatives.
