Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Texas seeks a dedicated Special Education teacher to support students with diverse needs. You will develop IEPs, deliver individualized instruction, and track progress to ensure academic growth.

You will collaborate with families, general education staff, and specialists, implementing state standards and campus initiatives while maintaining high expectations for all scholars.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution is required.
• Valid Texas state certification in Special Education is required.
• Experience in a Special Education classroom is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students.
• Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for a caseload of students.
• Implement IEPs, assess students’ performance, and track progress.
• Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect goals.
• Assess students’ skills to determine needs and teaching plans.
• Teach small groups to support reading and math for diverse learners.
• Collect and analyze data to maximize student achievement.
• Communicate progress with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators.
• Host tutoring sessions to meet student needs.
• Participate in weekly manager check-ins and school meetings.
