Job summary

IDEA Public Schools seeks a dedicated Special Education teacher in Texas to support students with diverse learning needs. You will develop IEPs, implement individualized supports, and collaborate with families and staff to maximize student outcomes in reading, writing, and math.

Responsibilities include progress assessment, data analysis, and weekly planning, with a focus on high-need students and family engagement. This onsite role offers competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution(required)
• Experience: Experience in a Special Education classroom setting (strongly preferred)
• Licenses or Certifications: Valid Texas state certification in Special Education (required)

Responsibilities

• Adapt lessons to meet diverse student needs.
• Develop and implement IEPs for a caseload.
• Assess progress and update IEPs regularly.
• Teach small groups including at-risk students.
• Collect and analyze student data to inform decisions.
• Communicate progress with families weekly.
• Align instruction with state standards and IDEAcurricula.
• Maintain gradebook and prepare weekly plans.
• Participate in meetings and after-school duties.
