Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs. You will develop individualized plans, implement accommodations, and monitor progress in reading, writing, and math for students with outlined service minutes.

This role requires a Bachelor’s degree and Texas state certification in Special Education. You will collaborate with families and school teams to ensure high-need scholars progress toward college readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution (required).
• Valid Texas state certification in Special Education (required).
• Experience in a Special Education classroom preferred.
• Strong knowledge of core academic subjects and instruction.

Responsibilities

• Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students.
• Develop IEPs for a caseload of students.
• Implement IEPs, assess progress, and track outcomes.
• Update IEPs to reflect progress and goals.
• Assess student needs to develop teaching plans.
• Communicate progress with students and families weekly.
• Collaborate with families, teachers, and staff to support student achievement.
