Job summary

Brownfield ISD seeks a Special Education Teacher to provide instruction and activities aligned to IEP goals and ARD processes, developing or adapting curricula for students with diverse needs in self-contained or itinerant settings. Requires a Bachelor’s degree, Texas SPED teaching certificate, and strong communication.

Preference for ARD/IEP experience and collaboration with parents and staff. The role emphasizes collaboration with campus teams, ongoing assessment, and maintaining required

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignment.
• Knowledge of ARD Committee process and IEP goal setting.
• Effective communication skills.
• Experience: Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents, and other staff to develop IEP through ARD for each student.
• Implement instructional or therapeutic programs and provide written evidence of prep.
• Assess student learning styles and plan instruction accordingly.
• Present material according to IEP guidelines using varied techniques and media.
• Modify regular curricula and assist students in regular classes.
• Participate in ARD Committee meetings and in selection of instructional media.
