Job summary

Brownfield ISD seeks a Special Education Teacher to provide education tailored to students with special needs. You will develop or modify curricula, prepare lessons, and collaborate with ARD teams to implement IEP goals.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and Texas teaching certification with special education endorsements, plus strong communication skills and experience with ARD/IEP processes. Work setting is on campus with regular faculty collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignment.
• Knowledge of ARD Committee process and IEP goal setting and implementation.
• Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction for special needs.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEP through ARD for each student.
• Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development program for assigned students with written prep evidence.
• Assess student learning styles and plan appropriate instructional strategies and materials.
• Present subject matter according to IEP guidelines and use varied instructional media including technology.
• Work with classroom teachers to modify curricula and assist integration of special education students.
• Participate in ARD Committee meetings regularly.
• Participate in selection of books, equipment, and media.
